After being the bestselling car in Canada for 20 years, it’s only natural that you’d want to try for that 21st year in the same top spot. Honda has definitely taken the right steps to ensure this latest 10th generation model of the Honda Civic stays top dog when it comes to sedans in Canada.
For 2019, Honda designers decided to update the front bumper and add a diffuser. The Civic’s headlights now feature a black casing, and the signature Honda “wing” across the front grille has also been blacked out. On the 2019 Honda Civic Touring models, the LED headlights have been revamped, and you’ll find a new chrome accent on the rear bumper. If you were tired of the previous generation’s paint colour choices fear not, there are new ones on the list now, like: Tonic Yellow Pearl (exclusive to the Civic coupe), Platinum White Pearl, and Cosmic Blue.
Slip into the driver’s seat of the 2019 Honda Civic and you’ll be greeted with a redesigned steering wheel that features intuitive buttons for easier navigation. The Civic’s centre console design has also been updated and for those known need some serious liquid on their road trips, there is now a cupholder large enough to hold a Big Gulp!
This time around in the 2019 Honda Civic, there are actual buttons and even a volume knob, along with an improved Bluetooth integration for easier phone pairing.
Honda Sensing is now standard across the entire Honda Civic lineup. That means every new 2019 Civic comes equipped with safety features like Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation, and even Road Departure Mitigation.
There are eight different models to choose from in the 2019 Honda Civic lineup – something for everyone! There are also two different engine choices: a 2.0L 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine that can be coupled with either a 6-speed manual or CVT and it produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. Then there’s also a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that can only be joined to the CVT. The 1.5L is good for 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque.
